This review is for the classically romantic vintage baby dress, style ON852. This romantic and elegant dress is a vision! Available for both babies, toddlers and girls, this is a dress that was beautiful enough to be translated well for girls of all ages! For babies, we have our usual sizes of small through extra large which covers 6-24 months of age. For the girls, we have sizes 2T to 10! This design is offered with two color options, a charming yellow with pink roses, and a pink dress with pink roses. The colors are so charming and delightful making this one of the most perfect vintage-inspired dress we have in stock!
The silhouette of this taffeta dress is rather simple, but the details and embroidery make it absolutely exquisite. The bodice is paired with puff sleeves; there is elastic on both the shoulder and the armhole to provide comfort as well as the fancy gathers in the voluminous caps of the sleeves. A quite unique design detail with this bodice is the square neckline, something that isn't seen often in baby or girls' dresses! Adorning the waistline is a contrasting taffeta waistband. Accenting this waistband is a trio of detachable rose pins that are large and fancy! These rose pins look so realistic with their delicate petals and leaves. The flowers are once again, detachable which means they can be removed but I believe they're perfect where they are! The taffeta waistband converts into an adjustable waist sash which can be tied into a long and fancy bow at the back. The fabric for this waistband and waist sash slightly differs from the rest of the dress and it seems to mimic the look and feel of a raw satin!
The skirt of this dress falls at about a natural tea length. A narrow layer of crinoline is built in to the skirt along the hem giving this dress the right amount of volume to make this a full and charming skirt for babies and a beautiful and elegant A-line silhouette for toddlers and girls. The hem of the skirt features a smooth, zigzag cut that is clean-hemmed with a scalloped stitch along the edge. What truly makes this dress look vintage is the embroidery! The entirety of this dress is covered with intricate and darling arrangements of floral embroidery with arches or swirling leaves and vines. The center of each bundle of embroidery features adorable embroidered rosebuds.
