This Cinderella flower girl dress with pick-up style skirt, style J502G, is a beautiful princess dress designed just for girls! This exquisite dress is available in four darling colors: white, ivory, pink, and silver. The perfect princess in a castle colors if you ask me! This dress, made exclusively for girls, runs in sizes 3 through 8. Made entirely out of light weight organza with that fantastic crystal sheen, this is a wonderful style that evokes that princess style in silhouette and design without the bulky or heavy detailing and embroidery.
Starting with the bodice, the organza is cut to create a fitted and slimming top with a scoop neckline and dainty cap sleeves. The bodice is cut as a sleeveless bodice with bias tape finishing the armholes and the cap sleeves are a delicate add-on. The short sleeves have the perfect amount of volume in the cap and a zipper enclosure can be found at the center back of the bodice. Accenting the waist is a delicately ruched band of organza with an attached floral pin at the center. The waist band converts into an adjustable waist sash which can be tied into a fancy bow at the back as well as creating a more fitted dress.
The skirt of this dress is absolutely stunning and lovely like any other princess dress but without the bulk and the weight! A layer of organza is pinned and tacked, accented with charming little rosebuds creating a skirt that looks elegant and luxurious with all of its gathers and volume. The pick-ups paired with the firm finesse of the crystal organza gives off a ballroom gown silhouette! Many other princess dresses accomplish this ballroom gown silhouette through layers and layers of heavy fabrics, petticoats and crinoline, but this dress does it with just organza and a small layer or crinoline enclosed in the hem of the lining! The pick-ups, gathers, and accenting rosebuds dance along the entirety of the skirt starting from the waistline, down to the hem, and on both the front and back of the skirt.
I love the ethereal princess look that this dress embodies so well. Though the voluminous silhouette is so obviously ballroom-princess, the sheer, light weight crystal organza makes the dress look graceful and floaty. The style is so versatile; it would look elegant in a ritzy hotel venue and just as beautiful in a garden setting. What this dress balances so well is the space between simplicity in design and sophistication in fabrics and detailing; not too fussy and over-the-top and not too plain and simple either. My only wish was that this dress came in a completely sleeveless style to ensure a more comfortable fit during the warmer months. Apart from that minor issue, this dress is absolutely beautiful! |
